David is Of Counsel to the firm specializing in intellectual property law with a subspecialty in patent law. In addition to having a Juris Doctor degree, he also holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree.
David’s experience includes over thirty years of providing counseling on matters relating to intellectual property law, including soliciting invention disclosures from inventors, reviewing invention disclosures for commercial application, preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, managing the preparation and prosecution of patent applications by outside counsel, assisting clients to design around patents, negotiating and drafting patent license and technology transfer agreements, training less experienced attorneys and patent agents, preparing invalidity and noninfringement opinions, preparing claim charts for assertion, asserting patents against infringers, defending clients from allegations of infringement, and supporting litigation in which his clients were either plaintiff or defendant.
David has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technologies including integrated circuit manufacturing, analog and digital circuits, optoelectronics, microprocessors, telecommunications equipment, connectors, electric power generation equipment, and oil field equipment.
David is admitted to practice in Patent cases before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. David does not currently maintain an active Connecticut admission.
